Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is the latest to weigh in on the controversial plans to build a mosque near Ground Zero, posting a statement on his website yesterday laying out this ultimatum: "There should be no mosque near Ground Zero in New York so long as there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia."

President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho: porn star and five-time ultimate smackdown wrestling champion! Level: 150 CS Original | This anti-Islamic fear mongering is just bizarre; people are coming out of the woodwork all over America, especially Middle America to talk about how every mosque is really a place that creates terrorists, and how they want to make America follow sharia law. Really what Newt is saying is that we should sink to the level of theocracies like Saudi Arabia and only allow Christian-themed religious institutions to be built. I'm sorry, that's not freedom of religion. I think if building a mosque near ground zero is really an insult, then building a church anywhere near Centennial Olympic Park should also be an insult. Since many Americans (about 50 million) view Christianity as something almost exclusively American and anything else as unAmerican, I figure that unlikely. I imagine if the terrorists on 9/11 were Christians, then they wouldn't whine about a church being built near ground zero. People like Pat Robertson try to get around the freedom of religion issue by claiming that Islam is a political movement, which anyone living in reality would realize is completely stupid. If we follow that logic, then the Roman Catholic Church should be treated in the same manner as Islam.
