Level: 0 | There´s a doomer on a board I post, that has an insane obsession with everything that screams "doom" here´s his latest gem: http://e360.yale.edu/feature/global_scarcity_scramble_for_dwindling_natural_resources/2531/ So, what are the possible ways to take this apart?

Level: 0 | well did you read through it? Typically doomsayers just gloss over something and pick the parts that fit their ideology. That's one method. The second one I can think of would be that the resources are diminishing, but it shouldn't be something to be too concerned about if we put our trust n engineers' work since their work consists of how can we reach x in the most efficiient way possible (least amount of resources).

Level: 6 CS Original | The link is more of an opinion piece than anything verifiable. But even the step from a "tech-realist", i.e., somebody who doesn't believe that superior technology and smart entrepreneurship will be enough to sustain our economic need for vast amounts of raw resources, to a doomer is a rather large one; You still have to account for the "when" and "for whom" when posing that resources are going to run out.
