Former MSNBC anchor David Shuster on Sunday sharply criticized Fox News over the network's lack of "journalistic standards."

In a roundtable discussion on CNN's Reliable Sources just days after Keith Olbermann's abrupt exit from MSNBC, Shuster dismissed the claim that there is a "moral equivalency" between Glenn Beck and Olbermann.

"When people say that MSNBC is the liberal antidote to Fox News, and that there's an equal balance there, that's simply not true," he said.

Referring to popular Fox News commentators Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck, Shuster said, "They don't even attempt to subscribe to the journalistic principles that were attempted throughout the MSNBC schedule."

"There are no journalistic standards on many of these shows on Fox News," he said.

Baltimore Sun columnist David Zurawik claimed that Olbermann's "Worst Person" segment aligned him more with Sen. Joseph McCarthy than Edward R. Murrow.

"That's simply not fair," Shuster said.
