The black leather jacket dude from reason - who is deliberately going for the whole fonzie look - is priceless.

In a deep, movie trailer voice:
"His think tank advocates legalizing pot, he wears a leather jacket, his bio has a testimonial from Playboy instead of the NY Times, he is the bad boy of intellectuals. Nick Gillespie: The Man, The Myth, The Legend."

When it comes to economics, I often trust people who think they're the Fonz.... eh!

Making money is cool. No rules is cool. The Fonz is cool. That's why libertarianism works.

The billionaire Koch brothers finance the Cato Institute to publish libertarian propaganda, which ironically few people want to buy and read:

By contrast the economists who publish those Freakonomics books apparently don't have ties to Koch money, and their books sell in response to genuine market demand.

The so-called libertarian movement in the U.S. has little spontaneous or organic support otherwise.

Libertarianism in the US is a cruel excuse for rich people to keep all their money, build a winner take all society since they are already the winners and let the rest of the world be damned.

Liberty in a libertarian society only exists for rich people.

I posted on another thread about how David Nolan, one of the founders of the Libertarian Party, struck me as a spoiled white kid who lacked real grievances about his situation in life.

I could say the same about Robert Heinlein, who despite his white trash background enjoyed a relatively good life in the U.S. while drawing a disability pension from his service in the U.S. Navy, and probably getting his socialized health care from the Veterans' Affairs system as well.

Yes, that's why they say libertarianism is for well-off, healthy people.
