Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | The second part of The Daily Beast's interview with Fox News president Roger Ailes is out today, and Ailes' encore doesn't disappoint. He responded harshly to Jon Stewart's pervasive criticism of cable news and had some tough, tough words for NPR. Stewart, of course, is a vocal critic of hyper-partisan cable news. At his Rally To Restore Sanity And/Or Fear in October, he rebuked the media, saying, "If we amplify everything, we hear nothing. Not being able to distinguish between real racists and Tea Partiers or real bigots and Juan Williams and Rick Sanchez is an insult, not only to those people but to the racists themselves who have put in the exhausting effort it takes to hate." What does Ailes think of Stewart's work? He acknowledged Stewart's smarts, but ultimately concluded that he "hates conservatives" and that he "is crazy." Ailes didn't stop there: "He loves polarization. He depends on it. If liberals and conservatives are all getting along, how good would that show be? It'd be a bomb." Speaking then about Juan Williams, who quickly landed a $2 million contract at Fox News after being fired from NPR, Ailes said he hired Williams because he was "mad" about the pundit's losses. He had even stronger criticism for NPR than he did for Stewart. "They are, of course, Nazis," Ailes said. "They have a kind of Nazi attitude. They are the left wing of Nazism. These guys don't want any other point of view. They don't even feel guilty using tax dollars to spout their propaganda. They are basically Air America with government funding to keep them alive."

Level: 4 CS Original | you mean the ~10% government funding they get is keeping them alive? lol npr is hardly left wing. unless of course your define everything that is not on the extreme right to be "left wing". NPR draws from both liberal and conservative think tanks and is the most informative news media outlet in America, and that's a fact.[1] Either that or its audience just so happens to be well informed, intelligent people. Fox News, on the other hand, is undeniably right-biased and does not want to hear the other point of view. Ailes, you're a hypocrite and/or an ignoramus and/or a liar.

Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | Okay, here's how it works. The Nazis were National Socialists. Wingnuts think all liberals are socialists. Therefore, liberals are Nazis. Don't ask me to explain it further, I just troll here.
