Alexander Retrov uses two things to predict earthquakes and doomsday: pseudoastronomy and a vague channeled spiritual 'source'. The claimed mechanism of his doomsday quakes is 'vibrational harmonics' caused by alignments of comets, planets, stars and the like in space. The events WILL happen - when? The next 6 weeks may well have many people eating their words. But how many will be able to shift what is in their hearts?

He released this statement after being completely wrong about massive Pacific Rim earthquakes on September 26th, 2011, which were supposed to be caused by Comet Elenin, which has broken up. People called him out on this failed prediction, so he's moving the date up to try again...and being a bit sore about people calling him out for his September 26 failure.

Explanation

This prediction is him explaining why he was wrong by trying to claim he was just off on the date...the events will happen anyway. This is not unlike failed predictions made by other conspiracy theorists, doomsday prophets, etc. If you want more information on this fellow, 2012hoax has a whole page on him and his failures. With a track record like this, though, I don't think there's much to worry about in the next 6 weeks.
