This is page seventeen of my discussion on the Alex Jones film The Obama Deception. If you were linked here by mistake, please refer to page one of this article, which contains the introduction.
[Alex Jones]
The people of the United States and the world were filled with hope that Obama was the real deal, when in his first week in office, he signed an executive order supposedly closing Guantanamo Bay and other secret prisons. Then the press actually had a chance to read the executive order and were shocked to find that the executive order only said that Obama was thinking about closing Guantanamo in a year. But worst of all, the executive order continued the practice of rendition, which the LA Times
called "secret abductions."
The first article shown talks about the fact that detainees cannot file with the US courts to challenge their detention at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan, and in fact says that detainees at Guantanamo Bay do indeed have the right to challenge their detention, the opposite of what Alex is implying[333].
A lawyer who represents detainees at Guantanamo stated that because the prison was being closed, guards were "getting their kicks in" and abusing prisoners while they still had a chance. The Pentagon said it had received renewed reports of prisoner abuse, but said that they were being kept in accordance the Geneva Conventions[334].
Executive Order 13492 does not say that Obama is just "thinking about closing Guantanamo in a year", it actually sets it on a timeline to be closed[335].
Renditions are secret abductions in foreign countries where individuals are taken to a country friendly to the US. For example, someone being abducted from Iran and being taken to Saudi Arabia[336], and they have yet to be discontinued.

They don't know. They think that he signed off immediately on closing Guantanamo, but he's allowing prisoners now to be taken to foreign countries, and not knowing where they're sending them, and to be tortured in foreign countries. They don't know that they kept that provision in there.
Executive Order 13493 calls for a review of all prisoners at Guantanamo "with respect to the apprehension, detention, trial, transfer, release". Some have already been released, but some also remain. Those to be transferred are not said to be under renditions in the order as Alex Jones claims[337][338][339].
[Alex Jones]
Obama is now continuing the practice of secret arrest, secret prisons, and most importantly, indefinite detention without trial. When a British high court said that it was preparing to release secret British and US torture orders that prove that the Bush administration was ordering personnel to systematically abuse detainees,
Barack Obama threatened to cut of all US intelligence ties to England. To add insult to injury, he stated that the program was important to national security, not only endorsing Bush's crimes, but continuing them.
It's widely known that the Bush administration used "advanced interrogation techniques" (as they call them) on prisoners, as well did British officials. I'm not sure why Alex Jones thinks he's blown something wide open that was already widely known[340].
The situation is fairly complex regarding this case. First and foremost Obama stated that the United States will not sure torture and has ended the practice of water boarding[340c]. Obama then released documents admitting that the Bush Administration had tortured suspects[340d]; so why bother to threaten the British not to release the info? Well, the ACLU article on screen is vague, but with further investigation into it, apparently the US didn't want the documents blocked because of torture, but rather because of evidence that was gained through the torture itself[340e][340f].
Also, why is Alex Jones quoting the ACLU? Prison Planet called them "a socialist front" and stated: "No single group has had as much a detrimental effect on our society in the last half century as the American Civil Liberties Union."[340b]
This is yet one of countless examples of how Alex Jones will take information he's in favor of, no matter the source and spin it in his favor, but anything he doesn't like is a lie.
[Gerald Celente]
Obama voted for reinstatement of the
PATRIOT Act and by his early deeds already again, as we saw with his...the issues of retention, he's willing to send people that have been charged with nothing to be tortured to, so-called, get the truth out of them.
He did indeed vote to reauthorize the PATRIOT Act, but almost all of his "early deeds" have been grossly misrepresented in the film thus far, though a few are indeed correct.

If the makers of this film attempted to cover all of Obama's lies, this documentary would never be released, because there are new ones every day.
It's especially easy to find lies when you make most of them up.
So, in the interest of time, we're going to cover one more big one. Barack and his handlers made the cornerstone of his campaign keeping lobbyists and donors out of his administration. Within hours of being elected, Obama did a 180 and filled the White House and Federal Government with lobbyists and donors at all levels.
While he did say he was going to ban lobbyists, instead he put strict standards in place[341b-d]:
Basically it's nowhere near as simple as Jones makes it, and we've got to remember that politicians do indeed soften or even break promises, but that doesn't legitimize all the mischaracterizations and outright lies in the rest of the film.
Obama picked William Lynn, the top lobbyist for Raytheon, to fill the number two position of the Department of Defense.
William Lynn was previously a lobbyist for Raytheon, but not the "top lobbyist"[341], as he was an expert in defense[341e].
Timothy Geithner, former president of the private Federal Reserve Bank of New York, was picked by Obama to be Secretary of the Treasury.
This makes him a lobbyist, how?
Geithner promptly crammed the Treasury Department full of lobbyists like his Chief of Staff, Mark Patterson, formerly the top lobbyist at Goldman Sachs.
He was previously a lobbyist[342], but given the situation, he was considered to be the best man for the job; he also stepped away from anything involving Goldman Sachs, and also he had left that bank in April, 2008[342b].
Obama appointed top lobbyist to the Saudi Royal Family, George Mitchell, as the lead Middle Eastern Envoy.
George Mitchell was not a lobbyist for the Saudi Royal Family; he was dispatched to several countries including Saudi Arabia after the 2008-2009 Israel-Gaza conflict[343].
Obama appointed the king of Wall Street lobbyists, Leon Panetta, to head up the CIA.
Leon Panetta was never a lobbyist.
Obama tapped Tom Daschle, top lobbyist for healthcare firms, to run the Department of Health and Human Services. And the list goes on and on.
Tom Daschle worked at a lobbying firm as a policy advisor while out of office in 2004[344], and was initially selected but withdrew his name after it came out he did not properly report and pay his income taxes (something you'd think the conspiracy theorists would praise him for)[345]. Instead Kathleen Sebelius was selected[346]. Interestingly enough she refused to take contributions from Blue Cross Blue Shield[347]. This is a bad choice for someone wanting to fill his positions with lobbyists.
In the end, if Obama was already picked to be a puppets, what difference would it make who is put into his cabinet?
Even if Obama was hoping to fill his cabinet with lobbyists, he failed horribly and managed to get two out of the six Alex Jones mentions.
But again, this is hardly "filled." Alex Jones seems to believe that when you have a few people in a bigger picture, then therefore the entire bigger picture is exactly the same as those few people. If I have a farm with two horses and 100 cows, that doesn't mean my farm is "full of horses on every level."
And finally, if, as Alex says, this is one of the biggest lies they're going to concentrate on, why not go really in depth with it? There's a whole hour left in the movie. Maybe because most of the staff hadn't been picked yet or is it that they just aren't lobbyists?
Then, three weeks into his administration, Obama launched a new lie, more outrageous than the previous. With Academy Award-level conviction, he said that he was upset about the banker bailout, which his own Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, another former Wall Street executive, had engineered.
I thought it was Lawrence Summers, Robert Rubin, and Alan Greenspan; now it's Rahm Emanuel too? Why didn't they mention that before?
